"IN THE MOMENT"
One of my absolute favorite pictures. During a break on a bench, I watched this little girl chase pigeons for minutes. Her parents sat in the background. My camera was lying - still switched on - beside me on the bench. But I had no intention of taking a photo of her. When she ran in my direction, I instinctively pressed the shutter without picking up the camera.
When I saw the image, I immediately felt warmth in my heart. A picture of unconditional joy and a perfect example of what it looks like to live IN THE MOMENT. Children have this gift before we and the world take it away from them. Since then, I’ve kept this photo as a symbol of staying in the moment. Enjoying things as they are and finding joy in what’s right in front of me. Thank you, little girl!

"INNER CALM"
Amidst the chaos of Bangkok, between the stress, the noise of tuk-tuks, scooters, and cars, this man caught my attention. He was completely absorbed in himself, undisturbed by anything or anyone, and he relaxed for a long time on those stairs. When I passed by again on my way back, he was still there. The power of calm.

"ONE"
Side Fact: In the first attempt, the man briefly changed direction because he thought he was disturbing me while I was taking my photo. That's why I asked him if he could walk the path again. In a way, it was a staged photo. Psst. Don’t tell anyone.

"TALKING EYES"
A friend of mine – who is also a (very talented!) street photographer – told me that this picture is her absolute favorite. When I asked why, and mentioned that it bothers me that her eyes aren't in perfect focus, she said: "That's totally irrelevant. Because her gaze... her facial expression completely captivates you. Her eyes say so much, yet the viewer has no idea and is left with room for interpretation."
So I asked her what she would call the picture, and she said: "Talking Eyes."
Thank you, Manu. :)

This picture is part of the series "Talking Eyes" – it shows a homeless girl who slept on this rusty bed frame in the heart of the capital of Cambodia. I stayed near her for a while to observe who she is and what she does.

"TALKING EYES"
After a while, she started talking to a stranger. At first, very cautious and reserved, it was nice to see her smile. Children often don't need much, just a little attention and affection. Photos that still evoke a deep feeling in me whenever I see them.

"LOVE IS BLIND"
To see the person – not their skin color. No one embodies this worldview better than children. That’s why the silhouette of a little girl completes the picture, interacting with the profiles in the background.

"RITUAL"
I met a lady in a bathrobe, walking with her two dogs through the fog by the sea. Every morning for the past 20 years, she swims in the North Sea, no matter the weather - rain, snow, or sunshine. It’s her daily ritual, a quiet strength shared with the ocean.

"REVERIE"
In moments of chaos and noise, it’s important to take a step back and let ourselves dream. This is possibly what the girl is doing - finding her own peace amidst the hustle, lost in her thoughts and dreams.
